Two brothers from the Sydney area have been arrested for allegedly possessing a ‘substantial quantity’ of hydromorphone and cash.

Cape Breton Regional Police say they executed search warrants at two different residences in New Waterford, N.S., around 4 p.m. on Friday.

As a result, police say Peter William Power, 53, and Martin Patrick Power, 62, were arrested for possession with the purpose of trafficking.

Peter William Power also faces charges of flight from police and resisting arrest.

Both accused have been remanded to Cape Breton Correctional Centre and will appear in Sydney Provincial Court on Monday.
