A fifth person is facing charges after two men were stabbed in Dartmouth early Tuesday morning.

Halifax Regional Police say an officer walking in the Primrose Street area around 2:30 a.m. was approached by a citizen asking for help.

Officers responded to a nearby home, where they found a 49-year-old man and an 18-year-old man suffering from stab wounds.

Police say the men were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. They have since been released from hospital.

A short time later, members of the emergency response team arrested four people – two men, a woman and a teen – in the area of Catherine Street and Farrell Road.

Police say all four are facing charges in connection with the stabbing. They appeared in court Wednesday.

A 16-year-old male youth has been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, two counts of assault with a weapon causing bodily harm, two counts of robbery, break and enter and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Christopher Steven Slaunwhite, 20, Natasha Irene Lee White, 20, and Theodore Payne St. Onge, 24, all of Dartmouth, each face two counts of assault with a weapon, two counts of assault with a weapon causing bodily harm, two counts of robbery, break and enter and two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Slaunwhite has also been charged with two counts of breach of probation while White has been charged with one count of breach of probation.

A fifth suspect, 20-year-old Codie Kenneth Bruce Horne, was arrested in Dartmouth Thursday evening.

Police say he is facing two counts of assault with a weapon, two counts of assault with a weapon causing bodily harm, two counts of robbery, break and enter, two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and two counts of breach of probation.

Horne is due to appear in Dartmouth provincial court Friday.
