Halifax Regional Police will be canvassing the Dartmouth area Friday as they continue to investigate the murder of 20-year-old Joseph Douglas Cameron.

Police say they will be in the area of Kennedy Drive and Roleika Drive between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and Spring Avenue and Mount Edward Road between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Officers will be speaking to members of the community, as well as handing out and posting flyers, as they seek information about Cameron’s death.

Police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Spring Avenue and Mount Edward Road around 5:20 a.m. on March 29.

When officers arrived, they found Cameron dead on the sidewalk. His death has been ruled a homicide.

Police have said Cameron was not known to them, but they don’t believe his death was a random incident.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact police.
