RCMP death threats case in N.B. adjourned until next month

MONCTON, N.B. -- The case of a New Brunswick man accused of uttering threats to kill RCMP officers in Moncton has been adjourned until next month.

David Earl Crawford of Riverview is accused of uttering threats and causing a disturbance on June 9 outside the Codiac RCMP detachment in Moncton, where a makeshift memorial was set up for three Mounties who were shot dead five days earlier.

Crawford has been placed under house arrest and ordered to have no contact with Justin Bourque, the man charged with fatally shooting the RCMP officers.

The 19-year-old Crawford has also been ordered not to contact Jasper Stam, who has pleaded guilty to uttering death threats to police in May.

Crawford is scheduled to return to provincial court in Moncton on Aug. 27 to enter a plea.
