Police are asking for the public’s help as they continue to investigate an alleged sexual assault in Lower Sackville, N.S.

RCMP received a report that a 37-year-old woman had been sexually assaulted on a pathway near the Kinsmen Club and Sackville High School shortly after 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Investigators say the woman had been walking along the trail at First Lake when she was attacked by two men.

A K9 unit was called in to assist officers but they failed to locate the suspects.

Police confirm they are looking for two male suspects driving a dark-coloured, two-door car.

The alleged victim told police the suspects’ car had been parked at the Kinsmen Club parking lot.

"After going through a traumatic event, it can be very challenging for victims to recall descriptive information," said Halifax District RCMP Cpl. Greg Church in a statement.

"At this time we have no further details and that is why are asking for the public's help. If you have any information, please come forward - no detail is too small."

RCMP say the integrated sexual assault team has been assigned to the investigation.
