A search is underway for a missing man in Sydney.

Cape Breton Regional Police and search and rescue crews were combing the Sydney waterfront Friday morning.

Police are looking for 62-year-old Murdock Daniel McCharles, who was last seen leaving his Bentinck Street home around 12 p.m. on Nov. 25.

His friends and family have not seen or heard from him since.

Police would not say what led them to search the waterfront Friday morning.

McCharles is roughly five-foot-eight inches tall and weighs 170 pounds. He has grey hair and blue eyes and wears glasses.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact police.
