Halifax Regional Police have arrested a third suspect in connection with an alleged attack on a bus driver in Dartmouth.

Tyere Brushett appeared in Dartmouth provincial court on Wednesday. The 19-year-old Dartmouth man is charged with assault causing bodily harm and breach of a probation order.

Brushett is the third person to have been charged in the attack.

An 18-year-old Sackville man is charged with assault causing bodily harm and breach of recognizance in connection with the incident.

A 20-year old Halifax man is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth provincial court in August to face a charge of assault causing bodily harm.

The charges come after police responded to the bus terminal on Nantucket Avenue before 9:30 p.m. on July 8.

Police say a 44-year-old bus driver got out of his bus to break up a fight between two young women, but he was quickly surrounded by a group of youths.

Police allege three males assaulted the driver, knocked him to the ground and kicked him in the face.

The suspects fled the scene when other bus drivers stepped in to help.

The bus driver was taken to the Dartmouth General Hospital for treatment of minor injuries to his face. He has since been released.
