Two Nova Scotia men are facing charges in connection with the alleged kidnapping and sexual assault of a 19-year-old woman.

Windsor District RCMP responded to a home in Hants County around 5 a.m. Monday.

The woman told police that two men forced her into a vehicle and took her to a remote location following a house party in Three Mile Plains.

She said she was sexually assaulted and then returned to the house where the party had taken place.

“In this particular case it took a period time to collect the amount of evidence that was required to move forward with this case,” explains Constable Mark Skinner of the Nova Scotia RCMP. “Certainly we don’t try and rush an investigation; we just try and do the best job we can to move forward with a conviction.”

Sanchez Lemar Clarke, 25, of Halifax was arrested at the home.

The second suspect, 24-year-old Kingsley Cornell Downey of North Preston, turned himself in to police in Windsor on Wednesday.

Police say Clarke and Downey are facing charges of kidnapping, sexual assault and theft of a motor vehicle.

They are both due to appear in Windsor provincial court on Friday.
