HALIFAX - Police say a young man is in hospital with serious injuries after being shot during an attempted robbery in Halifax.
Officers say the 19-year-old man was sitting in a vehicle with a friend in the area of Dutch Village Road and Frederick Street early Saturday morning when two people approached them and demanded money.
Police say there was a short altercation and the man was shot in the back. The victim's friends then drove to a residence nearby to ask for help.
The victim was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say the suspect is a white male with a black goatee and wearing a black hat.
The vehicle the victim was shot in has been seized and is in police custody awaiting a forensic examination.
No arrests have been made as the investigation continues.
