A spunky canine with a surprising talent is music to the ears of dog lovers.

As a puppy, Meadow was a piano-playing prodigy who did not like to share his keyboard.

“When he was a pup at the breeders he used to play it and chase the other dogs away from his little piano,” says Blair Blakeney, Meadow’s owner.

Now 4 years old, the Sheltie still loves playing a melody and usually tickles the ivories four to five times a day.

“If he wants your attention he'll start tapping the piano and say come on, play with me,” says Blakeney.

Meadow’s talents are not limited to playing the piano, he also sings along.

“We haven't tried dancing yet, but that could be next,” jokes Blakeney.

Blakeney says Meadow seems to prefer classical music, as opposed to rock.

"He seems to be fascinated by certain tunes on the TV, certain songs he’ll be right up to the TV and stare at it, amazing how he's enthralled by music,” says Blakeney.

Meadow won’t be taking his show on the road, preferring to play private engagements at home in Porters Lake, N.S., and asking for only one thing in return from his adoring fans.

“Just love, he's not treat-motivated,” says Blakeney.
