FREDERICTON -- The New Brunswick government says it has reached a tentative collective agreement with the provincial nurses' union.

The government announced the proposed deal in a statement Thursday.

But it says both sides have agreed not to release any details pending ratification of the deal.

The New Brunswick Nurses Union represents more than 6,000 registered nurses in hospitals, public and community health programs.

It's not clear when the union will hold a vote on the agreement.
