The RCMP say a 42-year-old man is still missing after his boat sank in the waters of the Northumberland Strait, near the Bay of Saint-Louis, on Wednesday.
Police responded to a report that a woman had been rescued from the water by a fisherman shortly after 8 a.m.
Police say the woman had been on a 16-foot boat with a man and pet dog. The boat left Kouchibouguac National Park around 4 a.m. that morning.
However, the vessel started to sink and they ended up in the water. The woman was able to hold onto something but the man disappeared.
A fisherman found the woman floating in the water. She was taken to hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Several search organizations, led by the Halifax Joint Rescue Coordination Centre, scoured the waters for most of the day in search of the man, who is from Saint-Louis-de-Kent, N.B.
The search ended at dusk and the matter was handed over to the RCMP.
