RCMP in New Brunswick have pledged to continue cracking down on Internet child luring and exploitation after some alarming numbers were reported this week.

It was revealed last night in a report to Moncton City Council that 740 computer users in the Codiac region were luring children to some degree in just a nine-day period last year.

Police say although the number of computer users has been dropping due to charges being laid, it only means some users have become savvy and are making work for police more difficult.

Codiac RCMP say they will soon have two full-time Internet child exploitation investigators in place to help in the crackdown on child luring.
