RCMP in New Brunswick say they’ve arrested one man and seized a large quantity of drugs and cash after executing two search warrants in the Moncton area.

Police say officers conducted a vehicle stop in Moncton on May 13, seizing several kilograms of marijuana.

That led to police searching a Moncton residence where they seized several more kilograms of marijuana, as well as hashish, magic mushrooms, cocaine, thousands of pills and a large amount of cash.

On Monday, police executed another search warrant at a residence in Lutes Mountain, N.B., where they seized a prohibited weapon and ammunition.

36-year-old Christopher John Cormier of Lutes Mountain was arrested and charged with several drug-related offences, as well as possession of property obtained by crime and failing to stop for police.

Cormier appeared in Moncton provincial court on Monday.

He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing  June 1.

Police say the investigation was conducted by the members of the RCMP Federal Operations unit.
