A teenage boy is dead after crashing his ATV in Nova Scotia’s Lunenburg County.

The RCMP responded to the single-vehicle collision in Chester Basin around 9:30 p.m. Monday.

Police say it appears the 14-year-old boy was travelling along the Canada Trail when he collided with a tree. His body was found a short distance away from his ATV. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not identified the teen but say he was from the Chester area.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
