UPPER KENNETCOOK, N.S. -- A family from Upper Kennetcook, Nova Scotia has been displaced after a fire destroyed their home Saturday evening.

The Canadian Red Cross says the fire was reported around 5 p.m. at the residence on Highway 236, about midway between Truro and Windsor.

The couple and their five-year-old daughter were uninjured by the fire.

Disaster volunteers with the Canadian Red Cross are helping the family with emergency accommodation.
