Police in Nova Scotia have laid sexual assault charges against the executive director of a non-profit organization serving people with disabilities.

A 17-year-old Halifax-area girl reported being sexually assaulted while attending a March Break camp run by SOARS, the Social Opportunities and Rec Society, RCMP say.

Anthoney Leo Gough of Middle Sackville, N.S. was arrested on Tuesday in Lower Sackville without incident, police say.

Gough is charged with sexual assault, sexual exploitation of a person with a disability, and driving while disqualified.

Police say they believe there could be other victims who have not come forward.

RCMP said he is expected to appear in Darmouth provincial court on Wednesday.

Anyone with information about this incident or other similar ones is asked to call the Halifax District RCMP at 902-490-5180.

Police say their investigation is ongoing.
