A 27-year-old man is facing several charges following an alleged altercation in Porters Lake, N.S. Wednesday evening.

Halifax RCMP responded to a report of a dispute between two men on Jemalea Lane around 9 p.m.

Police allege a 44-year-old man had been assaulted and threatened with a knife by another man. No one was injured.

Nicholas Roland Rhyno was arrested later that night and held in custody overnight.

The Porters Lake man is facing a number of charges, including one count of uttering threats, three counts of assault with a weapon and one count of possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace.

Rhyno is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth provincial court on Thursday.

The incident remains under investigation.
