Nova Scotia RCMP say investigators are still on the scene of a motorcycle crash in Tatamagouche that claimed the life of a 24-year-old local man.

Police, paramedics and firefighters responded at around 4:45 a.m. to a report of a crash involving a single motorcycle rider who appears to have lost control of his vehicle.

The Tatamagouche man was travelling westbound on Highway 6 when the crash occurred near the intersection with Main Street, police say.

The man was found in a nearby driveway and was pronounced dead at the scene, police say.

As of noon on Sunday, investigators were still at the scene along with an RCMP traffic analyst.

Police are advising the public that the intersection of Main Street and Highway 6 will be closed intermittently throughout the afternoon as police continue their investigation.
