Halifax area RCMP are investigating after a sewing needle was found inside a Halloween chocolate bar.

Police say they were alerted by the mother of a seven-year-old girl after the mother discovered the needle.

The girl had trick or treated along Kaleigh Drive and Caldwell Road in Eastern Passage on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, police in New Brunswick are investigating incidents in Fredericton and Bathurst in which a nail and a needle were found in Halloween candy.

In none of the incidents were any children reported to have been injured.
