A 69-year-old man is dead following a fire at a cottage in Nova Scotia’s Cumberland County.

The RCMP and the Tidnish Bridge Fire Department responded to the cottage in Jackson’s Point just after midnight.

The building was fully engulfed in flames when police and fire crews arrived on scene.

A man’s body was found inside the cottage. Police say he was the sole resident but his identity has not been released.

The cause of the fire is under investigation but it is not being treated as suspicious.
