The RCMP in New Brunswick say a 67-year-old Memramcook man is facing 24 charges on sex-related offences.

The man, who cannot be identified due to a publication ban in the case and concerns that his name could identify some of his victims, appeared in Moncton court today.

Police say the charges, which include sexual assault, invitation to sexual touching and sexual interference, involve six victims under the age of 16.

The alleged incidents occurred between 1997 and 2012, mostly in southeastern New Brunswick.

The RCMP arrested the man on Tuesday. He will remain in custody until his next court appearance on June 15.
