A seven-year-old boy is in hospital with serious injuries after he was struck by a pickup truck in Summerside, P.E.I.
Police and paramedics responded to Notre Dame Street around 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
Police say it appears the boy ran into the street to retrieve a ball when he was struck by the oncoming truck.
He was taken to Prince County Hospital and later transferred to a Halifax hospital with what are believed to be serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say the collision remains under investigation.
