A Prince Edward Island man has been sentenced to three days in jail after pleading guilty to an impaired driving charge.

The RCMP spotted a vehicle driving without any lights on Main Street in Montague around 3 a.m. on Oct. 19.

Police stopped the vehicle and the driver was taken to the local RCMP office where he provided a breath sample in excess of the legal limit.

Terrence Noel Condon was charged with impaired driving and pleaded guilty in Georgetown provincial court. On Wednesday, he was sentenced to three days in jail.

In addition to the jail sentence, the 31-year-old Roseneath man was fined $1,000 and ordered to pay a $300 surcharge. He is also prohibited from driving a vehicle anywhere in Canada for one year.
