A woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a vehicle-pedestrian collision in Nova Scotia’s Pictou County.

RCMP responded to the collision at Exit 19 on Highway 104 around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Police say the woman was walking along the eastbound shoulder of the road when she was struck by a passing vehicle.

The victim, a 48-year-old woman from Limerock, was taken to the Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow with serious injuries.

Police say eastbound traffic will be rerouted onto Highway 4 for several hours Tuesday.

The incident remains under investigation.
