Halifax Regional Police closed off sections of Oak and Elm Streets after receiving a call of an attempted robbery of the Quinpool Road Subway restaurant.
Police say they received a report shortly after 3:00 p.m. of a man entering the sandwich shop with a knife.
There were no reported injuries and nothing was taken.
The man is described as Caucasian, in his early 20s, between 5’6 and 5’7 with a thin build.
He was wearing a black hoody, black sneakers, a white ball cap and sunglasses at the time of the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing.
