Police are ruling the death of a 63-year-old Weymouth North, N.S., woman as a homicide.

Officers located the woman’s body at a home on Fort Point Road just after 3 p.m. on Thursday.

Police were treating the death as suspicious, but following an autopsy on Friday, it has officially been ruled a homicide.

Police say the investigation is being led by the RCMP Southwest Nova Major Crimes Unit with assistance from the Southwest Nova RCMP Forensic Identification Unit and Digby RCMP detachment.
