Some businesses were evacuated Thursday morning as Halifax Regional Police investigated a threat in Dartmouth.

Police responded to a business in the 0-100 block of John Savage Avenue around 8:30 a.m.

They say the business received a threatening phone call from an anonymous caller.

Officers responded to the scene and searched the area with the help of a K9 unit, but nothing suspicious was found.

Businesses in the area were evacuated as a precaution and a section of John Savage Avenue was closed to traffic while police searched the scene.

Employees have since been allowed to return to their workplaces and the street is now reopened to traffic.

The incident remains under investigation and police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
