Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a 60-year-old missing man who disappeared after leaving a Halifax hospital.

Joseph Stanley Amiro was last seen leaving the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre around 8:40 p.m. on May 1. He was reported missing to police on May 8.

Police say there is no information to suggest Amiro has met with foul play but they are concerned for his well-being.

Amiro is described as a white man with grey hair and grey facial hair on his chin. He is five-feet-tall and has a thin build.

He was last seen wearing a green jacket, blue jeans and walks with a copper-coloured cane with black electrical tape on the bottom.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact police.
