Halifax Regional Police are looking for a suspect after a man was allegedly robbed and stabbed in the city on the weekend.

Police responded to the 5000 block of Cornwallis Street around 12 p.m. Sunday. Officers found a 60-year-old man suffering from a stab wound when they arrived on scene.

Police say the man had been stabbed in the 6000 block of Cunard Street by someone believed to be known to him.

In addition to stabbing the man, the suspect allegedly stole a quantity of prescription drugs and money from him.

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a white man with dirty blonde hair. He was wearing dark baggy clothes, a dark green baseball cap and three dog choke-chains around his neck.
