Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a woman who is suspected of breaking into a home in Oak Point, N.B., last week.
Northeast District RCMP say a man and woman broke into the home on Nov. 20 of Route 11, and allegedly tried to rob the homeowners.
Police say the suspects used pepper spray on the homeowners, but one of the victims was able to hold down the male suspect until officers arrived.
The female suspect, believed to be in her early 20s, fled the home in a vehicle outside with an unknown number of accomplices.
Officers found the blue Pontiac G6 several hours later and determined it was stolen.
Police say neither of the residents were seriously injured.
The 20-year-old man arrested at the scene – Nicholas Lagacé of Bathurst – has been charged with break and enter, robbery and obstruction of a police officer.
He was remanded into custody and will appear in court on Dec. 5.
Anyone with information on the identity of the female suspect or of the incident is asked to contact Tracadie RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
