THREE MILE PLAINS, N.S. -- RCMP have arrested and charged a 28-year-old man in connection with theft of vehicles from a business in Lunenburg County.

Nova Scotia RCMP say Robert Edward Veith of Three Mile Plains faces five counts of possession of stolen property following the recovery of some items reported stolen from Oakhill, Lunenburg County earlier this week.

Police say a truck, a trailer, three side-by-side ATV’s and one other ATV were stolen from Oakhill Commercial Recreation on July 18. Police say the value of these items is believed to exceed $100,000.

“During the course of the investigation, the RCMP determined that the stolen items were at a residence in Three Mile Plains. On July 20, members of the Windsor and Lunenburg Districts used an RCMP helicopter to conduct aerial surveillance of the area, which resulted in the recovery of the three side-by-side ATVs and the trailer,” said Cpl. Jennifer Clarke in a release. “RCMP officers then arrested a man at the scene. He was held overnight and taken to Kentville Provincial Court yesterday.”

Police are requesting the public's assistance to locate the remaining stolen ATV and truck:

  • an Arctic Cat "TBX 700" 4-wheeler (police have reason to believe the decals may have been removed)
  • a white 2003 Ford F450 pickup with "OCR" decals on its side, licence plate 26924D (NS)

RCMP say they are continuing to investigate this matter, and that further charges are expected.
