RCMP in New Brunswick have released a photo of a woman whose remains were found in a tent in Penniac last month.

They hope the photo of Susan Lynn Burnside will assist police in the investigation into her death.

The photo was taken roughly 15 years ago when Burnside was 41. Police say it is the most recent photo they have been able to find.

Two hikers found the body of the 56-year-old woman, along with some personal items, in a tent in the woods near the Penniac Bridge on Nov. 24.

Police say Burnside was originally from Saint John, but had lost touch with her family.

She was last considered a transient and had no fixed address. She was never reported missing.

Police say there are no obvious signs of foul play, but they have been unable to determine the exact cause of death.

They believe her remains may have been at the location for at least a year.

Anyone with any information or who may have had contact in the past few years with Susan Lynn Burnside is asked to contact the RCMP at 1-888-506-RCMP (7267).
