The RCMP are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating a driver after a toddler was hit by a car in Moncton.

Police responded to the corner of High Street and Connaught Avenue around 1 p.m. Monday. They say two women and a toddler were crossing High Street when a vehicle turning onto High Street bumped the toddler.

The child suffered minor injuries.

Police say the vehicle didn’t stop at the scene and was last spotted heading down Connaught Avenue towards the Universite de Moncton.

The driver is described as a white male in his late 40s or early 50s. He was wearing glasses and a dark-coloured jacket. He was driving a dark grey, four-door Mazda sedan.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
