The Inverness District RCMP is looking for witnesses to a hit-and-run collision that sent a pedestrian to hospital.

Police say a truck was travelling down Central Avenue in Inverness around 10 a.m. Saturday when the driver lost control of the vehicle and allegedly struck a pedestrian who had been walking on the sidewalk.

The 20-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He has since been released.

The driver of the truck was arrested a short time later. The 48-year-old Inverness man is due to appear in Port Hawkesbury provincial court on Nov. 15 to face charges in connection with the incident.

Police are still investigating the incident and are asking anyone who witnessed the incident, which involved a 2006 red Chevrolet Silverado, to contact them.
