Police are still searching for two suspects in relation to an alleged assault that take took place in downtown Halifax in early October.

A 21-year-old man told officers he was waiting for a taxi on Salter Street just before 4 a.m. on Oct. 4 when he was approached by a man he didn’t know.

Police say the young man was punched in the face, knocking him to the ground. 

A witness told officers a second man also punched the victim, and that both men fled the scene headed towards Barrington Street.

Police say there’s a possibility the suspects were with a number of other men.

The alleged victim was taken to hospital and treated for a broken jaw.

Both suspects are described as being in their twenties.

One man was described as being six-feet-tall with a stalky build and is either bald or has a buzz cut. He was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt.

Police say the second suspect was wearing dark clothing and is of an average height.

The investigation is ongoing.
