The search for an injured man, who called 911 early Sunday morning, has been called off.

Police say the phone call came in around 3 a.m.

The man said he was injured and in the area of Tower Road.

Officers, the K9 unit and Halifax Ground Search and Rescue combed the city's south end since early Sunday morning, with no success.

The search area included Tower Road, University Avenue South, and Point Pleasant Park.

Police say investigators were unable to trace the phone call because it came from an unregistered cell phone.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact police.
