Nova Scotia’s Serious Incident Response Team is investigating a sexual assault complaint involving an RCMP officer.

The Nova Scotia RCMP received a complaint Friday from a woman who said she had been sexually assaulted by a male officer during a traffic stop Thursday on Highway 101 near Exit 25 in Digby.

The RCMP said it is conducting its own review of the complaint, independent of SIRT’s investigation.
