Two men who became stranded while rappelling from a cliff in Cape Split, N.S, were rescued Saturday night.

King’s District RCMP says the 27 and 29-year-old men from Truro, N.S., became stranded around 9 p.m.

The RCMP, along with Valley Ground Search and Rescue, EHS, Canning Fire Service, and a military Cormorant helicopter responded to the scene.

Police say a High Angle Rescue Team climber brought both climbers down the cliff to the beach.

The helicopter landed on the beach and brought the climbers to safety.

The men were treated in hospital and later released.
