An 18-year-old man from Lakeside is facing a slew of charges after four vehicles were stolen in the Timberlea, N.S., area.

The suspect was arrested Sunday night after police attempted to stop a suspected stolen vehicle in Beechville. The suspect then tried to evade police.

The man abandoned the vehicle in a residential area, and fled on foot. He was later located by a K9 unit.

The driver admitted to stealing the vehicle, along with three other vehicles from Lakeside and Tantallon since March 17.

The man is facing four counts each of theft of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property, and three counts of flight from police.

He appeared in Halifax provincial court on Monday to face the charges.

On Sunday, police warned residents of the area that five vehicles were stolen in the past two weeks.
