Halifax police have laid charges against a teen in connection to a hit and run that happened early Monday morning in the city’s north end.

Halifax Regional Police say officers responded at around 1:20 a.m. to a report of a car hitting a parked vehicle on the 2300 block of Brunswick Street.

When police officers arrived on the scene, they saw the driver and passenger fleeing on foot.

Two male youths were arrested without incident after a short foot pursuit on the 5400 block of Uniacke Street, police say.

Police say they’ve charged a 17-year-old male with failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

He is to appear in Halifax youth court at a later date.

Police say the other teen was released without charges.
