Police in Nova Scotia are on the scene of a collision involving a motorcycle they say fled from a police traffic checkpoint.

RCMP say officers were running a speed enforcement checkpoint at 12:30 p.m. Monday on Route 335 in West Pubnico, N.S., when a motorcycle approached at high speed.

Officers motioned for the motorcycle to pull over, but the driver didn’t stop and fled faster down the road, police say.

Not long after, police say officers came upon a collision involving the motorcycle and a car it appeared to have collided with.

The driver of the motorcycle, an adult male, was taken to Yarmouth Regional Hospital with unknown injuries.

Two women who were in the car involved in the collision were also taken to hospital with minor injuries, police say.

Route 335 remains closed on Monday afternoon while a police collision analyst is on-scene with investigators.
