Two trucks sustained significant damage when a section of an exterior brick wall collapsed at an apartment building in Halifax.

The incident happened at 26 Alton Drive before 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

Tenant Alan Richards says he was sound asleep when he heard a loud bang outside.

“I was asleep and the next thing you know, I just heard a loud noise outside the building and I got up to find that the wall had collapsed between the two trucks,” says Richards, whose truck was damaged when the bricks came tumbling down.

“I was devastated by what I saw outside … I’m not too impressed after this. I don’t think I’ll be staying here for much longer.”

No one was injured but fire officials responded to the scene.

There is no word yet on how long it will take to repair the damage or how the collapse will affect residents.

The building is owned by Killam Properties.
