Two people were struck by cars in separate incidents in Dartmouth Monday night.

Police say an 83-year-old woman was struck by a car as she crossed Tacoma Drive at Hartlen Street around 6:45 p.m.

She was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Police say the 81-year-old male driver of the car was issued a ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

In a separate incident, police say a 52-year-old man was struck by a car as he crossed Portland Street at Hawthorne Street before 7:30 p.m.

He was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Police say they are still investigating the incident and there is no decision on charges at this time.
