RCMP in Nova Scotia’s Pictou County have arrested two people in connection with an ongoing drug investigation.

Police seized four grams of methylenedioxypyrovalerone - otherwise known as MDPV or bath salts - and drug paraphernalia, including packaging material and cutting and cooking agents, in Pictou early Monday morning.

A 32-year-old Sydney man and a 29-year-old Stellarton woman were arrested in connection with the seizures.

They face charges of possession of MDPV, possession for the purpose of trafficking MDPV, breach of probation and failure to comply with an undertaking.

Police say the woman was released from custody and is due to appear in Pictou provincial court on Feb. 11.

The man remains in custody. He is due to appear in Pictou provincial court Monday.
