A head-on collision on Nova Scotia’s Highway 103 has sent two people to hospital.

The crash happened when a westbound car collided head on with another car just before 6 p.m. Sunday between exits 10 and 11 near Mahone Bay.

A male driver was airlifted to the South Shore Regional Hospital with serious injuries.

The female driver of the second car was transported to hospital by ambulance

The highway was closed for about four hours following the crash.
