A 35-year-old woman is facing multiple charges, including assaulting a police officer, after an incident in Dartmouth on Sunday afternoon.

Halifax police say they were called to a home on the 300 block of Portland Street at about 3:30 p.m. after a man was allegedly struck by a vehicle. The woman driving the vehicle refused to stop for police and nearly hit an officer as she fled the scene.

Police say two women were arguing when one struck the other in the face. The victim’s husband tried to prevent the other woman from leaving, and she hit him with her car. The man was not hurt.

The woman was arrested on Lakecrest Drive. She is facing charges of assault with a weapon, assaulting a police officer and dangerous driving. She will appear in court at a later date.
