Rescue workers have located two women who got lost in the woods of southern Cape Breton after a night of inner tubing.

RCMP received a call around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday that the women may be missing near the Lower River Inhabitants, just east of Port Hawkesbury.

They say the women - ages 31 and 26 - had gone tubing on the river around 5 p.m. but their family became concerned when they failed to hear from them.

The Strait Area Ground Search and Rescue team found the women just after 11 p.m. in the woods near the river.

Police say they were not injured.
