Halifax Regional Police are looking for a man who allegedly asked a young woman for sex while she was playing Pokemon Go on the Mainland Common.

The popular game sends players into the real world to search for Pokemon with their iPhones or Android devices. Players are encouraged to roam their communities to visit so-called Pokestops to collect supplies and visit gyms to battle other players.

Police say the 20-year-old woman was playing the game on the Mainland Common around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday when she was approached by a man who tried to solicit her for sex.

The woman refused and walked away but police say the man persisted in soliciting her.

The woman then phoned police and the man left the area.

The suspect is described as a slim man in his 20s. He has an olive complexion, black hair and a mole on his cheek. He was wearing a black shirt and white shorts and spoke with an accent.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident or suspect to contact them.
