The husband of a missing Saint John woman is offering a $50,000 reward for information that helps police locate his wife.
Police say 45-year-old Yeonhee Choi left her home on Prince Street at approximately 6 a.m. on April 22.
She hasn’t been seen nor heard from since.
“I have hope my wife can return to my home, to me, to my daughter,” says Choi’s husband, Woogoo Han. “She loves us too much and she likes it here in Canada.”
Today, Han handed out flyers with his wife’s photo and information, and details of the reward for her safe return.
Sgt. Jay Henderson says police, a K9 unit, and search crews are combing the woods around her home, which sits near the Reversing Falls.
“We have received a few tips in the last 24 hours of possible sighting,” says Henderson. “We are following those up with the major crime unit and the investigators are following all the tips that are coming in.”
Several community members have volunteered their time, passing out flyers at businesses throughout the city.
“I’m sure she’s still alive and she has a family,” says Han. “My family must be strong right now, and my daughter, and she wants her mom to come back home.”
Choi is described as a Korean woman, five-foot-four with short, dark hair.
She was last seen wearing a black or brown leather jacket, black tights, black boots, and a dark knit-style sweater.
Police say she may have been carrying a black backpack.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact police.
